NL (scroll down) Chers amis, Centre d'art indépendant, créé en 1979 et ayant pour but l'étude et la promotion de la sculpture et de l'art tri-dimensionnel, l'Atelier 340 Muzeum est chroniquement sous-subventionné par les pouvoirs publics et non analysé pour son travail et son contenu intellectuel. C'est pourquoi, depuis plus de 33 ans, des personnes "éclairées" soutiennent nos activités. A titre privé ou par le biais de leurs entreprises, des amateurs d'art participent financièrement au développement et au rayonnement de nos activités en Belgique et à l'étranger. Différentes formules vous sont proposées pour manifester votre soutien:  La formule de base: Carte de sympathisant: 50 € (couple: 80 €) Entrées gratuites aux activités de l'Atelier 340 Muzeum (vernissages, expositions, post-vernissages, conférences, projections, etc.). Réduction de 30% sur les livres et catalogues édités par l'Atelier 340 Muzeum. Réduction de 10% sur les éditions collaboratives de l'Atelier 340 Muzeum. Réduction sur les autres éditions (multiples) de l'Atelier 340 Muzeum. Accès gratuit au Centre de documentation, dédié à la sculpture et l'art tri-dimensionnel contemporain. La formule de soutien: Carte d'entreprenant et d'entreprise: 600 € Entrées gratuites aux activités de l'Atelier 340 Muzeum (vernissages, expositions, post-vernissages, conférences, projection, etc.). Réduction de 30% sur les livres et catalogues édités par l'Atelier 340 Muzeum. Réduction de 10% sur les éditions collaboratives de l'Atelier 340 Muzeum. LKFF Art & Sculpture Projects selected three striking contemporary sculptors, each recognized for their interpretation of the human being: Caspar BERGER (NL), Mario DILITZ (A) and Sean HENRY (UK), alongside the pioneer in modern sculpture, Sir Jacob Epstein (UK).

In today’s art world, realism re-surfaces and continues to provide its serious practitioners with constant philosophical challenges. Visitors will discover how artists still more than ever try to make sense of «what we’re doing and why we’re here». Remarkable is the ability of these four artists to give expression to the human form, to transmit and translate the language of sculpture in order to trigger emotion. Their most minute details transform a piece from a basic anonymous figure to a universal commentary on the human spirit.

Paris: Armen Agop at the Institut du Monde Arabe

To Celebrate it's 25th anniversary, and in accordance with its vocation to understand, promote and support contemporary art, the "Institut du Monde Arabe" in Paris is currently exhibiting to the public a large exhibition dedicated to "25 years of creativity" in the arab world. The exhibition is curated by Ihab El Laban, the Egyptian art critic and specialist.  Among the artists, don't miss the black granite installation by Armen Agop!

A few words about an amazing artwork:

It is often said that desire itself can be a more beautiful thing than its object. The object is the essence of the desire. Yet once one has arrived at the essence, the moment in time becomes subject to decay. All that remains is the memory as an element of the world surrounding the essence.

Kavalier came about in response to the story of Der Rozenkavalier (The Knight of the Rose), in which the rose, as a symbol of the desire for a brief moment of ultimate passion, contrasts so starkly with the subsequent decay. In this silver object, the space around the rose has literally been captured, as the phantom of a passing moment. Here Kavalier does not pay homage to the essence, but communicates what is around it, thus delineating the desire for beauty, the engine of life.
